Please read all of the following information carefully:
Pacific Cup is the last regatta of the season for our beginner and junior racers. It's a great event for new paddlers and a perfect intro to racing.

Paddlers must be U-14 (born 2005) or younger OR a novice U-16 paddler (born 2004 or 2003). Ask Peter if you are not sure whether you qualify as novice. All paddlers will be racing in several different events (individual and team boats)each day.

These are fun but long days, usually starting about 8am and ending around 5 or so, plus the drive out to Maple Ridge (about 45 minutes from Burnaby Lake). We strongly suggest that you do not plan any evening activities that weekend.

The schedule has not yet been posted but some events may include finals later in the day.

We will set up a team potluck to share some lunch and snack food, but you should bring some healthy food and drinks for yourself too. There is a small beach at the lake and a playground. If the weather is good, it's a fun place for younger siblings as well!

Registration in the Pacific Cup is included with your membership or program registration. However, we are asking that each paddler put down a deposit of $40 for the weekend (or $20 for one day only). Deposits can be cheque or cash, given to Gina or Nicola or put into the green lockbox at the boathouse. When you show up for your full day at the regatta, your cheque or cash will be returned to you. We do this in order to ensure that everyone fulfills their commitment to attend. It is a big job to organize team boats and make sure everyone has a boat to paddle. You can understand that if you one paddler in a K4 doesn't show up, that leaves the other three disappointed and unable to race.
